Welcome to Lambda Beta Beta – Tropic Lightning Ques
Greetings,
On behalf of the Executive Council and the brothers of the Lambda Beta Beta Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Incorporated, “The Tropic Lightning Ques” I would like thank the people of Honolulu and members of the various military communities on Oahu for your untiring support. Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. was founded on the four cardinal principles of Manhood, Scholarship, Perseverance and Uplift, which in reality mean to serve our fellowmen gladly, freely and continuously. We strive to live our lives according to these principles and are dedicated to the development of our youth, improving our communities and laying a foundation for future generations. Because of the participation and patronage of the local community, we have been successful in all of our endeavors so again we thank you for your support.
Lambda Beta Beta is a graduate chapter of the Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Incorporated serving the state of Hawaii and the 13th District. Since its inception in 1982, the goal and tradition of Lambda Beta Beta has been to make real and significant contributions to our local community and the 13th District. For 28 years, the brothers of Lambda Beta Beta have been able to accomplish this goal through various undertakings such as our voter registration, scholarship and talent hunt programs, all of which are nationally mandated. Last year we awarded $8,000.00 in scholarships to deserving college-bound high school seniors as they continue their pursuit of academic excellence, this year we are on target to meet or exceed that amount. Our talent hunt program provides exposure, encouragement and financial assistance to various young people from all walks of life. Currently some participants at the national lever are awarded college scholarships.
On the local level, some of our initiatives that give back to the community include: Reading with the Ques, clothing and food drives, sponsorship of blood drives, partnership with Big Brother and Sisters of America, and most recently our support of the Haiti Relief effort. Yes, the Brothers of Lambda Beta Beta have been extremely active in the community this year, and we have enjoyed every second of it.
Finally, I would like to extend a “thanks” to the members of Lambda Beta Beta, my Brothers in Omega, for the loyal and dedicated support given to me as Basileus. Your contributions in making this chapter successful are greatly appreciated. I look forward to serving as your Basileus for the remainder of this Omega Year and will continue to do all I can to bring honor to the chapter and our beloved fraternity.
In the event that I can be of assistance, please feel free to contact me at: lambdabetabetabasileus@oppf.org
Thank you again for visiting us! We look forward to hearing from you.
With Kindest Regards
Phillip G. Rowland
